2 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Proclaim Sound Doctrine
2 But as for you, proclaim the things which are fitting for (A)sound doctrine. 2 (B)Older men are to be [a](C)temperate, dignified, self-controlled, (D)sound (E)in faith, in love, in [b]perseverance.
3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, (F)not malicious gossips nor (G)enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4 so that they may [c]encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be sensible, pure, (H)workers at home, kind, being (I)subject to their own husbands, (J)so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
6 Likewise urge (K)the young men to be [d]sensible; 7 in all things show yourself to be (L)an example of good deeds, with [e]purity in doctrine, dignified, 8 sound in speech which is beyond reproach, (M)so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
9 Urge [f](N)slaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be pleasing, not [g]argumentative, 10 not stealing, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of (O)God our Savior in every respect.
11 For the grace of God has (P)appeared, [h](Q)bringing salvation to all people, 12 [i]instructing us to deny ungodliness and (R)worldly desires and (S)to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner (T)in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the (U)appearing of the glory of [j](V)our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who (W)gave Himself for us (X)to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to (Y)purify for Himself a (Z)people for His own possession, (AA)eager for good deeds.
15 These things speak and [k](AB)exhort, and (AC)rebuke with all authority. (AD)No one is to disregard you.

2 Subalit ikaw naman, magturo ka nang ayon sa tamang aral. 2 Turuan mo ang matatandang lalaki na maging mahinahon, marangal, mapagpigil sa sarili, at maging matatag sa pananampalataya, sa pag-ibig, at sa pagtitiis. 3 Sabihan mo rin ang matatandang babae na mamuhay na kagalang-galang, huwag maninirang-puri at huwag maging mahilig sa alak. Dapat silang magturo ng kabutihan 4 upang maturuan nila ang mga kabataang babae na mahalin ang kanilang asawa at mga anak, 5 maging mahinahon at dalisay, mahusay mamahala ng kanyang tahanan, mabait, masunurin sa kani-kanilang asawa upang hindi mapulaan ang salita ng Diyos. 6 Turuan mo rin ang mga kabataang lalaki na magpigil sa sarili. 7 Sa lahat ng bagay ay maging halimbawa ka ng kabutihan. Maging tapat ka at kagalang-galang sa iyong pagtuturo. 8 Angkop na salita ang dapat mong gamitin upang hindi mapintasan ang itinuturo mo. Sa gayo'y mapapahiya ang mga kumakalaban sapagkat wala silang masasabing masama laban sa atin. 9 Turuan mo ang mga alipin na magpasakop at maging kalugud-lugod sa kanilang mga panginoon. Hindi rin sila dapat nakikipagtalo sa mga ito, 10 at hindi dapat pagnakawan. Sa halip, ipakita nilang mapagkakatiwalaan sila sa lahat ng pagkakataon upang maipakita nila sa kanilang ginagawa na kaakit-akit ang turo tungkol sa Diyos na ating Tagapagligtas.
11 Sapagkat nahayag na ang kagandahang-loob ng Diyos na nagdudulot ng kaligtasan sa lahat ng tao. 12 Ito ang nagtuturo sa atin na talikuran ang kasamaan at mga pagnanasang makasanlibutan, upang mabuhay tayong may pagpipigil sa sarili, matuwid at maka-Diyos sa kasalukuyang panahon, 13 habang hinihintay natin ang katuparan ng ating mapagpalang pag-asa, ang maluwalhating pagdating ng ating dakilang Diyos at Tagapagligtas na si Jesu-Cristo. 14 Siya (A) ang naghandog ng kanyang sarili para sa atin upang tayo'y palayain sa lahat ng kasamaan, at linisin upang maging sambayanang kanyang pag-aari at masigasig sa paggawa ng mabuti. 15 Ituro mo ang lahat ng ito. Gamitin mo ang iyong kapangyarihan upang magpalakas ng loob ng tao at sa pagsaway. Huwag mong hayaang hamakin ka ninuman.

Doing Good for the Sake of the Gospel
2 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.(A) 2 Teach the older men(B) to be temperate,(C) worthy of respect, self-controlled,(D) and sound in faith,(E) in love and in endurance.
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers(F) or addicted to much wine,(G) but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women(H) to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled(I) and pure, to be busy at home,(J) to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands,(K) so that no one will malign the word of God.(L)
6 Similarly, encourage the young men(M) to be self-controlled.(N) 7 In everything set them an example(O) by doing what is good.(P) In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.(Q)
9 Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything,(R) to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10 and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior(S) attractive.(T)
11 For the grace(U) of God has appeared(V) that offers salvation to all people.(W) 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,(X) and to live self-controlled,(Y) upright and godly lives(Z) in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing(AA) of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,(AB) 14 who gave himself for us(AC) to redeem us from all wickedness(AD) and to purify(AE) for himself a people that are his very own,(AF) eager to do what is good.(AG)
15 These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Qualities of a Sound Church
2 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, (A)homemakers, good, (B)obedient to their own husbands, (C)that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be (D)a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, (E)incorruptibility,[a] 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of [b]you.
9 Exhort (F)bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, 10 not [c]pilfering, but showing all good [d]fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
Trained by Saving Grace
11 For (G)the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 (H)looking for the blessed (I)hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 (J)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed (K)and purify for Himself (L)His own special people, zealous for good works.
15 Speak these things, (M)exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
