³ in due time he revealed his word through the proclamation with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior,^(A)

¹¹ that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I was entrusted.

⁴ But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,^{(A) 5} he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water^[a] of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.^{(B) 6} This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Salutation

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,^(A)

¹⁰ not stealing, but showing complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the teaching of God our Savior.

⁵ For

—this was attested at the right time.^{(B) 7} For this I was appointed a herald and an apostle (I am telling the truth;^[a] I am not lying), a teacher of the gentiles in faith and truth.^(C)

¹³ while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior,^[a] Jesus Christ.^(A)

¹⁰ but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ,^[a] who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.^{(A) 11} For this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher,^[b](B)

¹⁰ For to this end we toil and suffer reproach,^[a] because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.^(A)
