83 Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, xin chớ im lặng!
Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, xin đừng nín lặng, xin chớ điềm nhiên.
2 Vì kìa, những kẻ thù của Ngài náo động,
Những kẻ ghét Ngài vênh mặt lên.[a]
3 Chúng lập mưu nham hiểm chống dân Chúa,
Chúng bàn kế hại những kẻ Ngài bảo vệ.[b]
4 Chúng bảo: “Chúng ta hãy đến, tiêu diệt dân tộc chúng nó,
Để không ai còn nhớ đến tên Y-sơ-ra-ên nữa.”
5 Vì chúng đồng âm mưu,
Chúng kết ước chống lại Ngài:
6 Các dân[c] Ê-đôm và Ích-ma-ên,
Mô-áp và Ha-ga-rít,
7 Ghê-banh, A-môn, A-ma-léc,
Phi-li-tin và dân Ty-rơ;
8 Dân A-si-ri cũng hiệp với chúng nó
Mà hỗ trợ cho con cháu Lót.
9 Xin hãy làm cho chúng nó như Ngài đã làm cho Ma-đi-an,
Cho Si-sê-ra, cho Gia-bin tại sông Ki-sôn;
10 Chúng nó bị tiêu diệt tại Ên-đô-rơ,
Bị làm phân bón đất.
11 Hãy làm cho những hạng thượng lưu chúng nó ra như Ô-rếp và Xê-ép;
Cùng tất cả hoàng tử chúng nó giống như Xê-bách và Xanh-mu-na;
12 Vì chúng nó nói rằng chúng ta hãy chiếm lấy cho mình
Đất đai của Đức Chúa Trời.
13 Đức Chúa Trời tôi ôi! Xin hãy làm cho chúng nó
Như bụi trong cơn gió lốc; như rơm rạ trước cơn gió.
14 Như lửa thiêu hủy rừng,
Như ngọn lửa đốt cháy các núi thể nào;
15 Xin Ngài dùng bão táp đuổi bắt chúng nó,
Và lấy dông tố làm chúng kinh hoàng thể ấy.
16 Lạy CHÚA, xin Ngài làm cho mặt chúng đầy dẫy nhuốc nhơ;
Để chúng nó tìm cầu danh Ngài.
17 Nguyện chúng nó bị hổ thẹn và kinh hoàng đời đời,
Nguyện chúng nó bị nhục nhã và hủy diệt;
18 Nguyện chúng nó biết rằng chỉ một mình Ngài, danh là CHÚA,
Là Đấng Tối Cao tể trị trên cả thế gian.

1 O God, do not remain silent;(A)
do not turn a deaf ear,
do not stand aloof, O God.
2 See how your enemies growl,(B)
how your foes rear their heads.(C)
3 With cunning they conspire(D) against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.(E)
4 “Come,” they say, “let us destroy(F) them as a nation,(G)
so that Israel’s name is remembered(H) no more.”
5 With one mind they plot together;(I)
they form an alliance against you—
6 the tents of Edom(J) and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab(K) and the Hagrites,(L)
7 Byblos,(M) Ammon(N) and Amalek,(O)
Philistia,(P) with the people of Tyre.(Q)
8 Even Assyria(R) has joined them
to reinforce Lot’s descendants.[b](S)
9 Do to them as you did to Midian,(T)
as you did to Sisera(U) and Jabin(V) at the river Kishon,(W)
10 who perished at Endor(X)
and became like dung(Y) on the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,(Z)
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,(AA)
12 who said, “Let us take possession(AB)
of the pasturelands of God.”

83 O God, do not keep silence;
(B)do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
2 For behold, your enemies (C)make an uproar;
those who hate you have (D)raised their heads.
3 They lay (E)crafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your (F)treasured ones.
4 They say, “Come, (G)let us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
5 For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant—
6 the tents of (H)Edom and (I)the Ishmaelites,
(J)Moab and (K)the Hagrites,
7 (L)Gebal and (M)Ammon and (N)Amalek,
(O)Philistia with the inhabitants of (P)Tyre;
8 (Q)Asshur also has joined them;
they are the strong arm of (R)the children of Lot. Selah
9 Do to them as you did to (S)Midian,
as to (T)Sisera and Jabin at (U)the river Kishon,
10 who were destroyed at (V)En-dor,
who became (W)dung for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like (X)Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like (Y)Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, (Z)“Let us take possession for ourselves
of the pastures of God.”
13 O my God, make them like (AA)whirling dust,[a]
like (AB)chaff before the wind.
14 As (AC)fire consumes the forest,
as the flame (AD)sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so may you pursue them (AE)with your tempest
and terrify them with your hurricane!
16 (AF)Fill their faces with shame,
that they may seek your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be (AG)put to shame and dismayed forever;
let them perish in disgrace,
18 that they may (AH)know that you alone,
(AI)whose name is the Lord,

That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

6 (E)The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot. Selah
9 Deal with them as with (F)Midian,
As with (G)Sisera,
As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,
10 Who perished at En Dor,
(H)Who became as refuse on the earth.
11 Make their nobles like (I)Oreb and like Zeeb,
Yes, all their princes like (J)Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves
The pastures of God for a possession.”
13 (K)O my God, make them like the whirling dust,
(L)Like the chaff before the wind!
14 As the fire burns the woods,
And as the flame (M)sets the mountains on fire,
15 So pursue them with Your tempest,
And frighten them with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame,
That they may seek Your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be [e]confounded and dismayed forever;
Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
18 (N)That they may know that You, whose (O)name alone is the Lord,

13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.
