Debora i Barak
4 Nakon Ehudove smrti, Izraelci su ponovo počeli činiti zlo pred BOGOM. 2 Zato ih je BOG prepustio kanaanskom kralju Jabinu, koji je vladao u gradu Hasoru. Zapovjednik je njegove vojske bio čovjek po imenu Sisera, koji je živio u gradu Harošet Hagojim. 3 Posjedovao je devetsto željeznih bojnih kola. Dvadeset je godina surovo tlačio izraelski narod pa su oni zavapili BOGU za pomoć.
4 U to je vrijeme na čelu Izraela, kao sudac, bila proročica Debora, Lapidotova žena. 5 Živjela je kod Deborine palme, između Rame i Betela u Efrajimovom gorju. Izraelci su dolazili k njoj, a ona je presuđivala u njihovim sporovima.
6 Poslala je po Baraka, Abinoamovog sina, iz Kedeša u Naftalijevoj zemlji. Rekla mu je: »Izraelov ti BOG zapovijeda: ‘Okupi deset tisuća ljudi iz Naftalijevog i Zebulunovog plemena te ih povedi na planinu Tabor. 7 Namamit ću Siseru, zapovjednika Jabinove vojske, na rijeku Kišon. Sukobit ćete se s njim, s njegovim bojnim kolima i vojskom, a ja ću vam osigurati pobjedu.’«
8 Barak je nato rekao Debori: »Ići ću ako ti budeš išla sa mnom. Ako ti ne ideš, ne idem ni ja.«
9 »Svakako idem s tobom«, rekla je Debora. »Ali, znaj, put kojim si krenuo neće te dovesti do slave. BOG će Siseru predati u ruke jednoj ženi.«
Pobjeda nad Jabinom
Tako je Debora krenula s Barakom u Kedeš. 10 Ondje je Barak okupio ljude iz Zebulunovog i Naftalijevog plemena. Deset je tisuća ljudi krenulo za njim, a išla je i Debora.
11 A čovjek po imenu Heber, iz skupine Kenijevaca, potomaka Mojsijevog tasta Hobaba, živio je odvojeno od drugih Kenijevaca. Postavio je svoj šator pokraj hrasta u Saananimu, blizu grada Kedeša.
12 Siseri je dojavljeno da je Barak, Abinoamov sin, otišao na planinu Tabor. 13 Pozvao je svih svojih devetsto željeznih bojnih kola i cijelu vojsku iz Harošet Hagojima te su se okupili na rijeci Kišon.
14 Debora je rekla Baraku: »Ustani! Danas će ti BOG pomoći da pobijediš Siseru. BOG ide ispred tebe.«
Barak je sišao s planine Tabor, a pratilo ga je deset tisuća ljudi. 15 BOG je zastrašio Siseru, bojna kola i vojnike pred Barakovom vojskom. Sisera je sišao sa svojih kola i pobjegao pješice. 16 Barak je progonio bojna kola i vojsku sve do Harošet Hagojima. Cijela je Siserina vojska poginula od mača. Nitko nije preživio.
17 Sisera je pješice pobjegao i sakrio se u šator kod Jaele, žene Kenijevca Hebera. Pošto je između Jabina i Kenijevaca vladao mir, Sisera je mislio kako je siguran kod Jaele.
18 Jaela je izašla ususret Siseri. Rekla mu je: »Gospodaru, dođi u moj šator. Ne boj se!«
Sisera je ušao u njezin šator, a ona ga je pokrila prekrivačem.
19 Sisera je zamoli: »Molim te, daj mi malo vode. Žedan sam.«
Ona je otvorila mijeh[a] s mlijekom i dala mu da pije. Potom ga je ponovo pokrila.
20 »Stani na ulaz u šator«, rekao je. »Ako tko dođe i pita ima li koga u šatoru, ti reci da nema nikoga«.
21 No Heberova žena Jaela uzela je u ruke šatorski klin i čekić. Tiho se prikrala Siseri kad je duboko zaspao od iscrpljenosti. Stavila je klin na njegovu sljepoočnicu i udarila čekićem, tako da se klin zario u zemlju. Sisera je bio mrtav.
22 Tada je naišao Barak u potjeri za Siserom. Jaela mu je izašla ususret. Pozvala ga je: »Uđi da ti pokažem čovjeka kojeg tražiš.«
Ušao je u njezin šator i vidio Siseru kako leži mrtav, s klinom u sljepoočnici.
23 Tog je dana Bog omogućio Izraelcima da nadjačaju kanaanskog kralja Jabina. 24 Izraelci su se sve žešće borili protiv kanaanskoga kralja Jabina, sve dok ga nisu uništili.

4 MAS los hijos de Israel tornaron á hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová, después de la muerte de Aod.
2 Y Jehová los vendió en mano de Jabín rey de Canaán, el cual reinó en Asor: y el capitán de su ejército se llamaba Sísara, y él habitaba en Haroseth de las Gentes.
3 Y los hijos de Israel clamaron á Jehová, porque aquél tenía nuevecientos carros herrados: y había afligido en gran manera á los hijos de Israel por veinte años.
4 Y gobernaba en aquel tiempo á Israel una mujer, Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidoth:
5 La cual Débora habitaba debajo de una palma entre Rama y Beth-el, en el monte de Ephraim: y los hijos de Israel subían á ella á juicio.
6 Y ella envió á llamar á Barac hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Nephtalí, y díjole: ¿No te ha mandado Jehová Dios de Israel, diciendo: Ve, y haz gente en el monte de Tabor, y toma contigo diez mil hombres de los hijos de Nephtalí, y de los hijos de Zabulón:
7 Y yo atraeré á ti al arroyo de Cisón á Sísara, capitán del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y su ejército, y entregarélo en tus manos?
8 Y Barac le respondió: Si tú fueres conmigo, yo iré: pero si no fueres conmigo, no iré.
9 Y ella dijo: Iré contigo; mas no será tu honra en el camino que vas; porque en mano de mujer venderá Jehová á Sísara. Y levantándose Débora fué con Barac á Cedes.
10 Y juntó Barac á Zabulón y á Nephtalí en Cedes, y subió con diez mil hombres á su mando, y Débora subió con él.
11 Y Heber Cineo, de los hijos de Hobab suegro de Moisés, se había apartado de los Cineos, y puesto su tienda hasta el valle de Zaananim, que está junto á Cedes.
12 Vinieron pues las nuevas á Sísara como Barac hijo de Abinoam había subido al monte de Tabor.
13 Y reunió Sísara todos sus carros, nuevecientos carros herrados, con todo el pueblo que con él estaba, desde Haroseth de las Gentes hasta el arroyo de Cisón.
14 Entonces Débora dijo á Barac: Levántate; porque este es el día en que Jehová ha entregado á Sísara en tus manos: ¿No ha salido Jehová delante de ti? Y Barac descendió del monte de Tabor, y diez mil hombres en pos de él.
15 Y Jehová desbarató á Sísara, y á todos sus carros y á todo su ejército, á filo de espada delante de Barac: y Sísara descendió del carro, y huyó á pie.
16 Mas Barac siguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroseth de las Gentes, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó á filo de espada hasta no quedar ni uno.
17 Y Sísara se acogió á pie á la tienda de Jael mujer de Heber Cineo; porque había paz entre Jabín rey de Asor y la casa de Heber Cineo.
18 Y saliendo Jael á recibir á Sísara, díjole: Ven, señor mío, ven á mi, no tengas temor. Y él vino á ella á la tienda, y ella le cubrió con una manta.
19 Y él le dijo: Ruégote me des á beber una poca de agua, que tengo sed. Y ella abrió un odre de leche y dióle de beber, y tornóle á cubrir.
20 Y él le dijo: Estáte á la puerta de la tienda, y si alguien viniere, y te preguntare, diciendo: ¿Hay aquí alguno? Tú responderás que no.
21 Y Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda, y poniendo un mazo en su mano, vino á él calladamente, y metióle la estaca por las sienes, y enclavólo en la tierra, pues él estaba cargado de sueño y cansado; y así murió.
22 Y siguiendo Barac á Sísara, Jael salió á recibirlo, y díjole: Ven, y te mostraré al varón que tú buscas. Y él entró donde ella estaba, y he aquí Sísara yacía muerto con la estaca por la sien.
23 Así abatió Dios aquel día á Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los hijos de Israel.
24 Y la mano de los hijos de Israel comenzó á crecer y á fortificarse contra Jabín rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.

4 Again the Israelites did evil(A) in the eyes of the Lord,(B) now that Ehud(C) was dead. 2 So the Lord sold them(D) into the hands of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor.(E) Sisera,(F) the commander of his army, was based in Harosheth Haggoyim. 3 Because he had nine hundred chariots fitted with iron(G) and had cruelly oppressed(H) the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the Lord for help.
4 Now Deborah,(I) a prophet,(J) the wife of Lappidoth, was leading[a] Israel at that time. 5 She held court(K) under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah(L) and Bethel(M) in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided. 6 She sent for Barak son of Abinoam(N) from Kedesh(O) in Naphtali and said to him, “The Lord, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali(P) and Zebulun(Q) and lead them up to Mount Tabor.(R) 7 I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s(S) army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River(T) and give him into your hands.(U)’”
8 Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
9 “Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.(V) 10 There Barak summoned(W) Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.
11 Now Heber the Kenite had left the other Kenites,(X) the descendants of Hobab,(Y) Moses’ brother-in-law,[b] and pitched his tent by the great tree(Z) in Zaanannim(AA) near Kedesh.
12 When they told Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor,(AB) 13 Sisera summoned from Harosheth Haggoyim to the Kishon River(AC) all his men and his nine hundred chariots fitted with iron.(AD)
14 Then Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day the Lord has given Sisera into your hands.(AE) Has not the Lord gone ahead(AF) of you?” So Barak went down Mount Tabor, with ten thousand men following him. 15 At Barak’s advance, the Lord routed(AG) Sisera and all his chariots and army by the sword, and Sisera got down from his chariot and fled on foot.
16 Barak pursued the chariots and army as far as Harosheth Haggoyim, and all Sisera’s troops fell by the sword; not a man was left.(AH) 17 Sisera, meanwhile, fled on foot to the tent of Jael,(AI) the wife of Heber the Kenite,(AJ) because there was an alliance between Jabin king of Hazor(AK) and the family of Heber the Kenite.
18 Jael(AL) went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Come, my lord, come right in. Don’t be afraid.” So he entered her tent, and she covered him with a blanket.
19 “I’m thirsty,” he said. “Please give me some water.” She opened a skin of milk,(AM) gave him a drink, and covered him up.
20 “Stand in the doorway of the tent,” he told her. “If someone comes by and asks you, ‘Is anyone in there?’ say ‘No.’”
21 But Jael,(AN) Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep,(AO) exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.(AP)
22 Just then Barak came by in pursuit of Sisera, and Jael(AQ) went out to meet him. “Come,” she said, “I will show you the man you’re looking for.” So he went in with her, and there lay Sisera with the tent peg through his temple—dead.(AR)
23 On that day God subdued(AS) Jabin(AT) king of Canaan before the Israelites. 24 And the hand of the Israelites pressed harder and harder against Jabin king of Canaan until they destroyed him.(AU)
