¹² If you conquer, I will make you a pillar in the temple of my God; you will never go out of it. I will write on you the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.^(A)

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and freed^[a] us from our sins by his blood

¹⁵ if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.^{(A) 16} Without any doubt, the mystery of godliness is great:

¹⁸ I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth^{(A) 19} and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.^(B)

⁸ But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.^(A)
