Oración de un pecador arrepentido
Para el director del coro. Salmo de David, cuando después que se llegó a Betsabé, el profeta Natán lo visitó.
51 Ten piedad de mí(A), oh Dios, conforme a Tu misericordia;
Conforme a lo inmenso de Tu compasión(B), borra mis transgresiones(C).
2 Lávame por completo de mi maldad(D),
Y límpiame de mi pecado(E).
3 Porque yo reconozco mis transgresiones(F),
Y mi pecado está siempre delante de mí.
4 Contra Ti, contra Ti solo he pecado(G),
Y he hecho lo malo delante de Tus ojos(H),
De manera que eres justo cuando hablas(I),
Y sin reproche[a] cuando juzgas.
5 ¶Yo nací en iniquidad(J),
Y en pecado me concibió mi madre.
6 Tú deseas la verdad en lo más íntimo(K),
Y en lo secreto me harás conocer sabiduría(L).
7 Purifícame con hisopo, y seré limpio(M);
Lávame, y seré más blanco que la nieve(N).
8 Hazme oír gozo y alegría(O),
Haz que se regocijen los huesos que has quebrantado(P).
9 Esconde Tu rostro de mis pecados(Q),
Y borra todas mis iniquidades.
10 ¶Crea en mí(R), oh Dios, un corazón limpio(S),
Y renueva un espíritu recto(T) dentro de mí.
11 No me eches de Tu presencia(U),
Y no quites de mí Tu Santo Espíritu(V).
12 Restitúyeme el gozo de Tu salvación(W),
Y sostenme con un espíritu de poder(X).
13 Entonces enseñaré a los transgresores Tus caminos(Y),
Y los pecadores se convertirán a Ti(Z).
14 ¶Líbrame de delitos de sangre(AA), oh Dios, Dios de mi salvación(AB),
Entonces mi lengua cantará con gozo Tu justicia(AC).
15 Abre mis labios, oh Señor(AD),
Para que mi boca anuncie Tu alabanza(AE).
16 Porque Tú no te deleitas en sacrificio(AF), de lo contrario yo lo ofrecería;
No te agrada el holocausto.
17 Los sacrificios de Dios son el espíritu contrito(AG);
Al corazón contrito y humillado, oh Dios, no despreciarás.
18 ¶Haz bien con Tu benevolencia a Sión(AH);
Edifica los muros de Jerusalén(AI).
19 Entonces te agradarán los sacrificios de justicia(AJ),
El holocausto y el sacrificio perfecto(AK);
Entonces se ofrecerán novillos sobre Tu altar.

51 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

51 To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David, in the coming inn unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
2 Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me,
3 For my transgressions I do know, And my sin [is] before me continually.
4 Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging.
5 Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me.
6 Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know.
7 Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter.
8 Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised.
9 Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out.
10 A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me.
11 Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And a willing spirit doth sustain me.
13 I teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners unto Thee do return.
14 Deliver me from blood, O God, God of my salvation, My tongue singeth of Thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, my lips thou dost open, And my mouth declareth Thy praise.
16 For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give [it], Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not.
17 The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise.
18 Do good in Thy good pleasure with Zion, Thou dost build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then Thou desirest sacrifices of righteousness, Burnt-offering, and whole burnt-offering, Then they offer bullocks on thine altar!

1 Have mercy(B) on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;(C)
according to your great compassion(D)
blot out(E) my transgressions.(F)
2 Wash away(G) all my iniquity
and cleanse(H) me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.(I)
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned(J)
and done what is evil in your sight;(K)
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.(L)
5 Surely I was sinful(M) at birth,(N)
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
you taught me wisdom(O) in that secret place.(P)
7 Cleanse(Q) me with hyssop,(R) and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.(S)
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;(T)
let the bones(U) you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins(V)

16 You do not delight in sacrifice,(AN) or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
