La fuente de la vida está en ti
36 Al maestro del coro. De David, siervo del Señor.
2 El pecado habla al malvado
en el fondo del corazón;
el miedo a Dios no existe para él.
3 Se enorgullece de sí mismo,
incapaz de descubrir y odiar su culpa.
4 Son sus palabras maldad y mentira,
no quiere ser sensato ni obrar bien.
5 En su cama maquina maldades,
se aferra al mal camino,
no rechaza la maldad.
6 Señor, tu amor llega al cielo,
tu fidelidad hasta las nubes;
7 es tu justicia como los altos montes,
como el profundo abismo tus juicios;
Señor, tú salvas a personas y animales.
8 ¡Qué espléndido es tu amor, Señor!
Bajo tus alas se refugian los humanos.
9 Con los manjares de tu casa se sacian,
con el río de tus delicias apagas su sed.
10 Pues la fuente de la vida está en ti,
por tu luz vemos nosotros la luz.
11 Trata con amor a quienes te conocen
y con justicia a quienes son rectos.
12 Que no me aplaste el pie del soberbio,
que no me haga huir la mano del malvado.
13 Allí mismo han caído los malhechores,
están abatidos y no pueden levantarse.

36 Van David, de dienaar van de Here, voor de koordirigent.
2 De zonde beïnvloedt de goddelozen,
ze hebben geen enkel ontzag voor God.
3 De goddeloze denkt heel wat van zichzelf,
totdat het zover is dat zijn zonden aan het licht komen.
Dan wordt hij een gehaat man.
4 Alles wat hij zegt, is slecht en bedrieglijk.
Verstandig en goed handelen is er niet bij.
5 Zelfs in bed bedenkt hij nog allerlei kwaad,
hij bevindt zich op de verkeerde weg
en stelt zich open voor alles wat slecht is.
6 Here, uw goedheid en liefde zijn zo groot,
uw trouw is oneindig, niet te meten.
7 Uw rechtsgevoel is als de bergen
die U Zelf hebt gemaakt.
Uw oordeel is als een grote overstroming.
U bevrijdt mensen zowel als dieren, Here.
8 Wat is het geweldig
om uw goedheid en liefde te mogen ervaren, Here!
Daarom komen talloze mensen bij U schuilen.
9 Zij genieten van al het goede dat U hun biedt
en U overspoelt hen met uw zegeningen.
10 Want U bent de bron van al het leven:
als wij in uw licht staan, zien wij de dingen duidelijk.
11 Laten uw volgelingen
voortdurend uw goedheid en liefde mogen ervaren
en laten de eerlijke mensen
mogen delen in uw rechtsgevoel.
12 Zorg toch dat
de hoogmoedige geen vat op mij krijgt
en de goddeloze mij niet opjaagt.
13 De mensen die slechte dingen doen, zijn gevallen,
zij zijn neergeslagen en kunnen nooit meer opstaan!

1 I have a message from God in my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:[b](A)
There is no fear(B) of God
before their eyes.(C)
2 In their own eyes they flatter themselves
too much to detect or hate their sin.(D)
3 The words of their mouths(E) are wicked and deceitful;(F)
they fail to act wisely(G) or do good.(H)
4 Even on their beds they plot evil;(I)
they commit themselves to a sinful course(J)
and do not reject what is wrong.(K)
5 Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness(L) to the skies.(M)
6 Your righteousness(N) is like the highest mountains,(O)
your justice like the great deep.(P)
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.(Q)
7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!(R)
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.(S)
8 They feast on the abundance of your house;(T)
you give them drink from your river(U) of delights.(V)
9 For with you is the fountain of life;(W)
in your light(X) we see light.

36 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
