^6 (A)For the mind ^[a]set on the flesh is ^(B)death, but the mind ^[b]set on the Spirit is life and peace,

¹³ For you were called to ^(A)freedom, brothers and sisters; ^(B)only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but ^(C)serve one another through love. ¹⁴ For ^(D)the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “^(E)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁵ But if you ^(F)bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

¹⁶ But I say, ^(G)walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out ^(H)the desire of the flesh. ¹⁷ For ^(I)the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, ^(J)in order to keep you from doing whatever you want. ¹⁸ But if you are ^(K)led by the Spirit, ^(L)you are not under the Law. ¹⁹ Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: ^(M)sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, ²⁰ idolatry, ^(N)witchcraft, hostilities, ^(O)strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, ^(P)selfish ambition, dissensions, ^(Q)factions, ²¹ envy, ^(R)drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not ^(S)inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But ^(T)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(U)love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, ^(V)self-control; against such things ^(W)there is no law. ²⁴ Now those who ^[a]belong to ^(X)Christ Jesus ^(Y)crucified the flesh with its passions and ^(Z)desires.

²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow ^(AA)the Spirit as well. ²⁶ Let’s not become ^(AB)boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

^26 (A)Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, ²⁷ and do not ^(B)give the devil ^[a]an opportunity.

^31 (A)All bitterness, wrath, anger, ^[a]clamor, and slander must be ^(B)removed from you, along with all ^(C)malice. ^32 (D)Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, ^(E)just as God in Christ also has forgiven ^[b]you.

⁸ But now you also, ^(A)rid yourselves of all of them: ^(B)anger, wrath, malice, slander, and ^(C)obscene speech from your mouth. ^9 [a](D)Do not lie to one another, since you ^(E)stripped off the old ^[b]self with its evil practices, ¹⁰ and have ^(F)put on the new self, which is being ^[c](G)renewed to a true knowledge ^(H)according to the image of the One who ^(I)created it— ¹¹ a renewal in which ^(J)there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, ^(K)circumcised and uncircumcised, ^[d](L)barbarian, ^[e]Scythian, ^(M)slave, and free, but ^(N)Christ is all, and in all.

¹² So, as those who have been ^(O)chosen of God, holy and beloved, ^(P)put on a ^(Q)heart of compassion, kindness, ^(R)humility, gentleness, and ^[f](S)patience; ^13 (T)bearing with one another, and ^(U)forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; ^(V)just as the Lord forgave you, so must you do also. ¹⁴ In addition to all these things put on love, which is ^[g](W)the perfect bond of ^(X)unity.

^7 (A)In ^[a]Him we have ^(B)redemption ^(C)through His blood, the ^(D)forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to ^(E)the riches of His grace

The Incomparable Christ

^13 [a]For He rescued us from the ^[b](A)domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of ^[c](B)His beloved Son, ^14 (C)in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

¹³ And ^[a]when you were ^(A)dead ^[b]in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He ^(B)made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our wrongdoings, ¹⁴ having canceled ^(C)the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and ^(D)He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

²⁹ The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him, and *said, “Behold, ^(A)the Lamb of God who ^(B)takes away the sin of the world!
