The Conflict of Two Natures
13 Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me? (A)May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by working out my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would [a]become utterly sinful.
14 For we know that the Law is (B)spiritual, but I am (C)fleshly, (D)having been sold [b](E)into bondage under sin.

13 Then did what is good become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, so that it might be recognized as sin, brings about my death by this good thing, so that through this commandment sin might prove itself to be totally sinful.

14 Certainly we know that the law is spiritual, but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
