²² For we know that the whole creation ^(A)groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. ^23 (B)And not only that, but also we ourselves, having ^(C)the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves ^(D)groan within ourselves, ^(E)waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters, ^(F)the redemption of our body. ²⁴ For ^(G)in hope we have been saved, but ^(H)hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?

¹¹ Do this, knowing the time, that it is ^(A)already the hour for you to ^(B)awaken from sleep; for now ^[a]salvation is nearer to us than when we first believed.

¹² So then, my beloved, ^(A)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own ^(B)salvation with ^(C)fear and trembling;

⁸ But since ^(A)we are of the day, let’s ^(B)be ^[a]sober, having put on the ^(C)breastplate of ^(D)faith and love, and as a ^(E)helmet, the ^(F)hope of salvation. ⁹ For God has not destined us for ^(G)wrath, but for ^(H)obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁰ For this reason ^(A)I endure all things for ^(B)the sake of ^[a]those who are chosen, ^(C)so that they also may obtain the ^(D)salvation which is in ^(E)Christ Jesus and with it ^(F)eternal glory.
