⁴ Likewise, my brothers, ^(A)you also have died ^(B)to the law ^(C)through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, ^(D)in order that we may bear fruit for God.

^24 (A)He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we ^(B)might die to sin and ^(C)live to righteousness. ^(D)By his wounds you have been healed.

²² But ^(A)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(B)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(C)kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ^23 (D)gentleness, ^(E)self-control; ^(F)against such things there is no law.

² For the law of ^(A)the Spirit of life ^(B)has set you^[a] free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

²³ For ^(A)the husband is the head of the wife even as ^(B)Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is ^(C)himself its Savior. ²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit ^(D)in everything to their husbands.

^25 (E)Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and ^(F)gave himself up for her, ²⁶ that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by ^(G)the washing of water ^(H)with the word, ²⁷ so ^(I)that he might present the church to himself in splendor, ^(J)without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.^[a]

¹⁹ For through the law I ^(A)died to the law, so that I might ^(B)live to God. ²⁰ I have been ^(C)crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives ^(D)in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, ^(E)who loved me and ^(F)gave himself for me.

⁶ But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the ^(A)new way of ^(B)the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.^[a]

¹⁵ by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ^(A)ordinances, that he might create in himself one ^(B)new man in place of the two, so making peace,
