²⁵ Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

¹⁷ For ^(A)the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, ^(B)to keep you from doing the things you want to do. ¹⁸ But if you are ^(C)led by the Spirit, ^(D)you are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now ^(E)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, ^(F)divisions, ²¹ envy,^[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that ^(G)those who do^[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But ^(H)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(I)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(J)kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ^23 (K)gentleness, ^(L)self-control; ^(M)against such things there is no law. ²⁴ And those who belong to Christ Jesus ^(N)have crucified the flesh with its ^(O)passions and desires.

⁹ But he said to me, ^(A)“My grace is sufficient for you, for ^(B)my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that ^(C)the power of Christ may rest upon me. ^10 (D)For the sake of Christ, then, ^(E)I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For ^(F)when I am weak, then I am strong.

^5 (A)you yourselves like living stones are being built up as ^(B)a spiritual house, to be ^(C)a holy priesthood, ^(D)to offer spiritual sacrifices ^(E)acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ And ^(A)whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, ^(B)giving thanks to God the Father through him.

³ For ^(A)we are the circumcision, ^(B)who worship ^(C)by the Spirit of God^[a] and ^(D)glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, ^(A)who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ For I do not understand my own actions. For ^(A)I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. ¹⁶ Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with ^(B)the law, that it is good. ¹⁷ So now ^(C)it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. ¹⁸ For I know that nothing good dwells ^(D)in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. ^19 (E)For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. ²⁰ Now if I do what I do not want, ^(F)it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

²¹ So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. ²² For ^(G)I delight in the law of God, ^(H)in my inner being, ²³ but I see in my members ^(I)another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. ²⁴ Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from ^(J)this body of death?
