^5 (A)For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,

¹⁰ that I may know Him and the ^(A)power of His resurrection, and ^(B)the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, ¹¹ if, by any means, I may ^(C)attain^[a] to the resurrection from the dead.

^10 (A)always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, ^(B)that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

^12 (A)buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through ^(B)faith in the working of God, ^(C)who raised Him from the dead.

⁸ Now ^(A)if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, ⁹ knowing that ^(B)Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. ¹⁰ For the death that He died, ^(C)He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, ^(D)He lives to God. ¹¹ Likewise you also, ^[a]reckon yourselves to be ^(E)dead indeed to sin, but ^(F)alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

^12 (G)Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Not Carnality but Christ

3 If then you were ^(A)raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, ^(B)where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

^5 (A)even when we were dead in trespasses, ^(B)made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and raised us up together, and made us sit together ^(C)in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

The True Vine

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. ^2 (A)Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He ^[a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear ^(B)more fruit. ^3 (C)You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. ^4 (D)Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

⁵ “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much ^(E)fruit; for without Me you can do ^(F)nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not abide in Me, ^(G)he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you abide in Me, and My words ^(H)abide in you, ^(I)you^[b] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. ^8 (J)By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; ^(K)so you will be My disciples.

¹³ But He answered and said, ^(A)“Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
