¹⁷ But ^(A)thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the ^(B)standard of teaching to which you were committed,

⁹ But you are ^(A)a chosen race, ^(B)a royal ^(C)priesthood, ^(D)a holy nation, ^(E)a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^(F)out of darkness into ^(G)his marvelous light.

^13 (A)Follow ^(B)the pattern of ^(C)the sound^[a] words ^(D)that you have heard from me, in ^(E)the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

¹⁴ But ^(A)thanks be to God, who in Christ always ^(B)leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads ^(C)the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

²⁶ but ^(A)has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, ^(B)to bring about the obedience of faith—

Longing to Go to Rome

⁸ First, ^(A)I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, ^(B)because your faith is proclaimed in all the world.

³ For ^(A)I rejoiced greatly when the brothers^[a] came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth.

⁵ even ^(A)when we were dead in our trespasses, ^(B)made us alive together with Christ—^(C)by grace you have been saved— ⁶ and raised us up with him and ^(D)seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable ^(E)riches of his grace in ^(F)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For ^(G)by grace you have been saved ^(H)through faith. And this is ^(I)not your own doing; ^(J)it is the gift of God, ^9 (K)not a result of works, ^(L)so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For ^(M)we are his workmanship, ^(N)created in Christ Jesus ^(O)for good works, ^(P)which God prepared beforehand, ^(Q)that we should walk in them.
