⁹ Much more surely, therefore, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God.^[a](A)

¹⁰ and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.^(A)

Life in the Spirit

8 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.^(A)

¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.^(A)

²⁴ they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,^{(A) 25} whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement^[a] by his blood, effective through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed;^{(B) 26} it was to demonstrate at the present time his own righteousness, so that he is righteous and he justifies the one who has the faith of Jesus.^[b]

²⁴ Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and does not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.^(A)

Results of Justification

5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we^[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^(A)

The Guilt of Humankind

¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those who by their injustice suppress the truth.^(A)

³⁰ And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.^(A)

²² Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.^(A)
