²¹ so that, just as sin reigned in death, so grace might also reign through justification leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all,^[a](A)

¹⁴ Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam, who is a pattern of the one who was to come.^(A)

¹⁰ But if Christ is in you, then the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit^[a] is life because of righteousness.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.^(A)

¹⁶ From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.^{[a](A) 17} The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.^(B)

¹⁴ For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.^(A)

Adam and Christ

¹² Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death came through sin, and so death spread to all because all have sinned^(A)—

¹⁷ If, because of the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ,^[a] will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.^(A)
