^20 (A)Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. ^(B)Everything is indeed clean, but ^(C)it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus ^(A)that nothing is unclean in itself, ^(B)but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. ¹⁵ For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, ^(C)you are no longer walking in love. ^(D)By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.

^15 (A)To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and ^(B)unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both ^(C)their minds and their consciences are defiled.

⁶ but ^(A)whoever causes one of these ^(B)little ones who believe in me to sin,^[a] it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

¹⁵ And the voice came to him again a second time, ^(A)“What God has made clean, do not call common.”

³¹ So, whether you eat or drink, or ^(A)whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. ^32 (B)Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to ^(C)the church of God, ³³ just as ^(D)I try to please everyone in everything I do, ^(E)not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Flee Sexual Immorality

^12 (A)“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. ^13 (B)“Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one ^(C)and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but ^(D)for the Lord, and ^(E)the Lord for the body.

^21 (A)It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.^[a]

^3 (A)who forbid marriage and ^(B)require abstinence from foods ^(C)that God created ^(D)to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For ^(E)everything created by God is good, and ^(F)nothing is to be rejected if it is ^(G)received with thanksgiving, ⁵ for it is made holy ^(H)by the word of God and prayer.
