⁸ the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; ^(A)the one who leads,^[a] with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with ^(B)cheerfulness.

⁷ Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, ^(A)not reluctantly or under compulsion, for ^(B)God loves a cheerful giver.

¹⁷ Let the elders ^(A)who rule well be considered worthy of ^(B)double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.

²⁸ And ^(A)God has appointed in the church first ^(B)apostles, second ^(C)prophets, third teachers, then ^(D)miracles, then ^(E)gifts of healing, ^(F)helping, ^(G)administrating, and ^(H)various kinds of tongues.

¹⁷ Obey ^(A)your leaders and submit to them, ^(B)for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to ^(C)give an account. ^(D)Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

^25 (A)not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and ^(B)all the more as you see ^(C)the Day drawing near.

³ On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.

³² And Judas and Silas, who were themselves ^(A)prophets, encouraged and ^(B)strengthened ^(C)the brothers with many words.

¹⁵ After ^(A)the reading from ^(B)the Law and the Prophets, ^(C)the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any ^(D)word of encouragement for the people, say it.”
