⁵ For ^(A)those who live according to the flesh set their minds on ^(B)the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on ^(C)the things of the Spirit.

¹⁹ Now ^(A)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, ^(B)divisions, ²¹ envy,^[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that ^(C)those who do^[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But ^(D)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(E)love, joy, peace, patience, ^(F)kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ^23 (G)gentleness, ^(H)self-control; ^(I)against such things there is no law. ²⁴ And those who belong to Christ Jesus ^(J)have crucified the flesh with its ^(K)passions and desires.

²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, ^(L)let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

¹⁴ The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are ^(A)folly to him, and ^(B)he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

^6 (A)That which is born of the flesh is ^(B)flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.^[a]

Put On the New Self

3 ^(A)If then you have been raised with Christ, seek ^(B)the things that are above, where Christ is, ^(C)seated at the right hand of God. ^2 (D)Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. ³ For ^(E)you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
