¹⁷ (as it is written, ^(A)“I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, ^(B)who gives life to the dead and calls those ^(C)things which do not exist as though they did;

²⁸ and the ^[a]base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

⁴ “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be ^(A)a father of ^[a]many nations. ⁵ No longer shall ^(B)your name be called ^[b]Abram, but your name shall be ^[c]Abraham; ^(C)for I have made you a father of ^[d]many nations.

²¹ For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, ^(A)even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

²⁹ For whom ^(A)He foreknew, ^(B)He also predestined ^(C)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(D)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also ^(E)called; whom He called, these He also ^(F)justified; and whom He justified, these He also ^(G)glorified.
