⁹ And the great ^(A)dragon was thrown down, the ^(B)serpent of old who is called the devil and ^(C)Satan, who ^(D)deceives the whole ^[a]world; he was ^(E)thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. ¹⁰ Then I heard ^(F)a loud voice in heaven, saying,

“Now the ^(G)salvation, and the power, and the ^(H)kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the ^(I)accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.

^44 (A)You are of ^(B)your father the devil, and ^(C)you want to do the desires of your father. ^(D)He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because ^(E)there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks ^[a]a lie, he ^(F)speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of ^[b]lies.

¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they ^(A)may have life, and ^[a]have it abundantly.

²⁰ For ^(A)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, ^(B)being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. ²¹ For even though they knew God, they did not ^[a]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became ^(C)futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. ^22 (D)Professing to be wise, they became fools, ²³ and ^(E)exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and ^[b]crawling creatures.

²⁴ Therefore ^(F)God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be ^(G)dishonored among them. ²⁵ For they exchanged the truth of God for ^[c]a ^(H)lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, ^(I)who is blessed ^[d]forever. Amen.
