The Fall of Man

3 Now ^(A)the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from ^[a]any tree of the garden’?”

³ But I am afraid that, as the ^(A)serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

¹⁵ And the ^(A)serpent ^[a]poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood.

² And he laid hold of the ^(A)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and ^(B)bound him for a thousand years;
