7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on earth or sea or against any tree. 2 I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to damage earth and sea, 3 saying, “Do not damage the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have marked the servants[a] of our God with a seal on their foreheads.”
4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the people of Israel:
5 From the tribe of Judah twelve thousand sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand,
6 from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand,
7 from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand,
8 from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand,
from the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand sealed.
The Multitude from Every Nation
9 After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. 10 They cried out in a loud voice, saying,
“Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
11 And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 singing,
“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom
and thanksgiving and honor
and power and might
be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, robed in white, and where have they come from?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you are the one that knows.” Then he said to me, “These are they who have come out of the great ordeal; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 For this reason they are before the throne of God,
and worship him day and night within his temple,
and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them.
16 They will hunger no more, and thirst no more;
the sun will not strike them,
nor any scorching heat;
17 for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of the water of life,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

9 (B)Dopo queste cose, guardai e vidi[c] una folla immensa che nessuno poteva contare, proveniente da tutte le nazioni, tribù, popoli e lingue, che stava in piedi davanti al trono e davanti all’Agnello, vestiti di bianche vesti e con delle palme in mano. 10 E gridavano a gran voce, dicendo: «La salvezza appartiene al nostro Dio che siede sul trono, e all’Agnello». 11 E tutti gli angeli erano in piedi intorno al trono, agli anziani e alle quattro creature viventi; essi si prostrarono con la faccia a terra davanti al trono e adorarono Dio, dicendo: 12 «Amen! Al nostro Dio la lode, la gloria, la sapienza, il ringraziamento, l’onore, la potenza e la forza, nei secoli dei secoli! Amen».
13 Poi uno degli anziani mi rivolse la parola, dicendomi: «Chi sono queste persone vestite di bianco, e da dove sono venute?» 14 Io gli risposi: «Signore mio[d], tu lo sai». Ed egli mi disse: «Sono quelli che vengono dalla grande tribolazione. Essi hanno lavato le loro vesti e le hanno imbiancate nel sangue dell’Agnello. 15 Perciò sono davanti al trono di Dio e lo servono giorno e notte, nel suo tempio; e colui che siede sul trono stenderà la sua tenda su di loro. 16 Non avranno più fame e non avranno più sete, non li colpirà più il sole né alcuna arsura; 17 perché l’Agnello che è in mezzo al trono li pascerà e li guiderà alle sorgenti delle acque della vita[e]; e Dio asciugherà ogni lacrima dai loro occhi».

7 Und danach sah ich vier Engel an den vier Enden der Erde stehen, die hielten die vier Winde der Erde fest, damit kein Wind wehe über die Erde, noch über das Meer, noch über irgendeinen Baum.
2 Und ich sah einen anderen Engel, der von Sonnenaufgang heraufstieg, der hatte das Siegel des lebendigen Gottes; und er rief mit lauter Stimme den vier Engeln zu, denen es gegeben war, der Erde und dem Meer Schaden zuzufügen,
3 und er sprach: Schädigt die Erde nicht, noch das Meer, noch die Bäume, bis wir die Knechte unseres Gottes an ihren Stirnen versiegelt haben!
4 Und ich hörte die Zahl der Versiegelten: 144 000 Versiegelte, aus allen Stämmen der Kinder Israels.

10 Und sie riefen mit lauter Stimme und sprachen: Das Heil ist bei unserem Gott,[a] der auf dem Thron sitzt, und bei dem Lamm!
11 Und alle Engel standen rings um den Thron und um die Ältesten und die vier lebendigen Wesen und fielen vor dem Thron auf ihr Angesicht und beteten Gott an
12 und sprachen: Amen! Lob und Herrlichkeit und Weisheit und Dank und Ehre und Macht und Stärke gebührt unserem Gott von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
13 Und einer von den Ältesten ergriff das Wort und sprach zu mir: Wer sind diese, die mit weißen Kleidern bekleidet sind, und woher sind sie gekommen?
14 Und ich sprach zu ihm: Herr, du weißt es! Und er sprach zu mir: Das sind die, welche aus der großen Drangsal kommen; und sie haben ihre Kleider gewaschen, und sie haben ihre Kleider weiß gemacht in dem Blut des Lammes.
15 Darum sind sie vor dem Thron Gottes und dienen[b] ihm Tag und Nacht in seinem Tempel; und der auf dem Thron sitzt, wird sein Zelt aufschlagen über ihnen.
16 Und sie werden nicht mehr hungern und nicht mehr dürsten; auch wird sie die Sonne nicht treffen noch irgendeine Hitze;
17 denn das Lamm, das inmitten des Thrones ist, wird sie weiden und sie leiten zu lebendigen Wasserquellen, und Gott wird abwischen alle Tränen von ihren Augen.

7 Ezután láttam négy angyalt állni a föld négy sarkán, amint féken tartották a föld négy szelét, hogy ne fújjon szél a földre, se a tengerre, se a fákra.
2 Láttam egy másik angyalt is feljönni napkelet felől, akinél az élő Isten pecsétje volt, és hatalmas hangon odakiáltott a négy angyalnak, akiknek megadatott, hogy ártsanak a földnek és a tengernek,
3 és így szólt: "Ne ártsatok a földnek, se a tengernek, se a fáknak addig, amíg homlokukon pecséttel meg nem jelöljük a mi Istenünk szolgáit".
4 És hallottam a pecséttel megjelöltek számát: száznegyvennégyezer pecséttel megjelölt Izráel fiainak minden törzséből:

7 Après cela, je vis quatre anges ; ils se tenaient debout aux quatre coins de la terre. Ils retenaient les quatre vents de la terre pour qu’aucun vent ne souffle ni sur la terre, ni sur la mer, ni sur aucun arbre.
2 Et je vis un autre ange monter du côté de l’orient. Il tenait le sceau du Dieu vivant. Il cria d’une voix forte aux quatre anges auxquels Dieu avait donné le pouvoir de ravager la terre et la mer. 3 Il leur dit : Ne faites pas de mal à la terre, à la mer, ni aux arbres, tant que nous n’avons pas marqué du sceau le front des serviteurs de notre Dieu[b].

9 Après cela, je vis une foule immense, que nul ne pouvait dénombrer. C’étaient des gens de toute nation, de toute tribu, de tout peuple, de toute langue. Ils se tenaient debout devant le trône et devant l’Agneau, vêtus de tuniques blanches et ils avaient à la main des branches de palmiers[c]. 10 Ils proclamaient d’une voix forte : Le salut appartient à notre Dieu qui siège sur le trône, et à l’Agneau.
11 Et tous les anges se tenaient debout tout autour du trône, des représentants du peuple de Dieu et des quatre êtres vivants. Ils se prosternèrent face contre terre devant le trône et ils adorèrent Dieu en disant :
12 Amen !
A notre Dieu soient la louange,
la gloire et la sagesse,
la reconnaissance et l’honneur,
la puissance et la force
pour toute éternité !
Amen !
13 Alors l’un des représentants du peuple de Dieu prit la parole et me demanda : Ces gens vêtus d’une tunique blanche, qui sont-ils et d’où sont-ils venus ?
14 Je lui répondis : Mon seigneur, c’est toi qui le sais.
Il reprit : Ce sont ceux qui viennent de la grande détresse. Ils ont lavé et blanchi leurs tuniques dans le sang de l’Agneau. 15 C’est pourquoi ils se tiennent devant le trône de Dieu et lui rendent un culte nuit et jour dans son temple. Et celui qui siège sur le trône les abritera sous sa tente[d].
16 Ils ne connaîtront plus ni la faim, ni la soif ; ils ne souffriront plus des ardeurs du soleil, ni d’aucune chaleur brûlante[e]. 17 Car l’Agneau qui est au milieu du trône prendra soin d’eux comme un berger, il les conduira vers les sources d’eaux vives, et Dieu lui-même essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux[f].
