⁷ The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed ^(A)hail and ^(B)fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a ^(C)third of the earth was burned up, and a third of ^(D)the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

⁴ They were told ^(A)not to harm ^(B)the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have ^(C)the seal of God on their foreheads.

²² With pestilence and bloodshed ^(A)I will enter into judgment with him, and ^(B)I will rain upon him and ^(C)his hordes and the many peoples who are with him ^(D)torrential rains and hailstones, ^(E)fire and sulfur.

¹⁸ By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths.

¹⁵ So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released ^(A)to kill a third of mankind.

²³ Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the ^(A)Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt. ²⁴ There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail ^(B)struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field.
