¹⁶ ‘Never again will they hunger;
    never again will they thirst.^(A)
The sun will not beat down on them,’^[a]
    nor any scorching heat.^(B)

¹⁰ They will neither hunger nor thirst,^(A)
    nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them.^(B)
He who has compassion^(C) on them will guide^(D) them
    and lead them beside springs^(E) of water.

⁶ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.^(A)

⁶ the sun^(A) will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

²¹ Blessed are you who hunger now,
    for you will be satisfied.^(A)
Blessed are you who weep now,
    for you will laugh.^(B)

⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things^(A)
    but has sent the rich away empty.

¹⁷ “The poor and needy search for water,^(A)
    but there is none;
    their tongues are parched with thirst.^(B)
But I the Lord will answer^(C) them;
    I, the God of Israel, will not forsake^(D) them.
