¹⁵ And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not ^(A)worship the image of the beast ^(B)to be slain.

⁴ Then I saw ^(A)thrones, and ^(B)seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw ^(C)the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those ^(D)who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. ^(E)They came to life and ^(F)reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(A)the false prophet ^(B)who in its presence^[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(C)worshiped its image. These two were ^(D)thrown alive into the lake of ^(E)fire that burns with sulfur.

² So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful ^(A)sores came upon the people who bore ^(B)the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.

³ Then ^(A)the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. ⁴ And the herald ^(B)proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O ^(C)peoples, nations, and languages, ⁵ that when you hear the ^(D)sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you ^(E)are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. ⁶ And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately ^(F)be cast into a burning fiery furnace.”

⁶ And I saw the woman, drunk ^(A)with the blood of the saints, the blood of ^(B)the martyrs of Jesus.^[a]

When I saw her, I marveled greatly.

¹¹ And ^(A)the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and ^(B)they have no rest, day or night, these ^(C)worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

⁹ And another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone ^(A)worships the beast and its image and receives ^(B)a mark on his forehead or on his hand,
