⁵ She gave birth to a male child, ^(A)one who is to rule^[a] all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was ^(B)caught up to God and to his throne,

^15 (A)From his mouth comes a sharp sword ^(B)with which to strike down the nations, and ^(C)he will rule^[a] them with a rod of iron. ^(D)He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

^26 (A)The one who conquers and who keeps my works ^(B)until the end, ^(C)to him I will give authority over the nations, ²⁷ and ^(D)he will ^(E)rule^[a] them with a rod of iron, ^(F)as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father.

² She was pregnant and ^(A)was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth.

¹⁴ Therefore the ^(A)Lord himself will give you a sign. ^(B)Behold, the ^(C)virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name ^(D)Immanuel.^[a]

¹² Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, ^(A)“Come up here!” And ^(B)they went up to heaven ^(C)in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

²⁵ but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And ^(A)he called his name Jesus.
