The Angel and the Little Scroll

10 Then I saw another mighty angel^(A) coming down from heaven.^(B) He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow^(C) above his head; his face was like the sun,^(D) and his legs were like fiery pillars.^(E)

¹⁵ His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,^(A) and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.^{(B) 16} In his right hand he held seven stars,^(C) and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword.^(D) His face was like the sun^(E) shining in all its brilliance.

² There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

² And I saw a mighty angel^(A) proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”

²⁸ Like the appearance of a rainbow^(A) in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him.^(B)

This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory^(C) of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown,^(D) and I heard the voice of one speaking.

¹³ As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair^(A) call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe^(B) to the inhabitants of the earth,^(C) because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”

³ And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper^(A) and ruby.^(B) A rainbow^(C) that shone like an emerald^(D) encircled the throne.

⁶ His body was like topaz,^(A) his face like lightning,^(B) his eyes like flaming torches,^(C) his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze,^(D) and his voice^(E) like the sound of a multitude.

Harvesting the Earth and Trampling the Winepress

¹⁴ I looked, and there before me was a white cloud,^(A) and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man^[a](B) with a crown^(C) of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. ¹⁵ Then another angel came out of the temple^(D) and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle^(E) and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest^(F) of the earth is ripe.”
