^10 (A)I was in the Spirit ^(B)on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice ^(C)like a trumpet

¹⁰ And ^(A)he carried me away in the Spirit to ^(B)a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

³ And ^(A)he carried me away in the Spirit ^(B)into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on ^(C)a scarlet beast that was full of ^(D)blasphemous names, and ^(E)it had seven heads and ten horns.

The Throne in Heaven

4 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me ^(A)like a trumpet, said, ^(B)“Come up here, and ^(C)I will show you what must take place after this.” ² At once ^(D)I was in the Spirit, and behold, ^(E)a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.

² I know a man ^(A)in Christ who fourteen years ago was ^(B)caught up to ^(C)the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, ^(D)God knows. ³ And I know that this man was caught up into ^(E)paradise—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, ^(F)God knows— ⁴ and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter.

Eutychus Raised from the Dead

^7 (A)On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together ^(B)to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged his speech until midnight.

³ and called out with a loud voice, ^(A)like a lion roaring. When he called out, the seven thunders sounded. ⁴ And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, ^(B)“Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.” ⁵ And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land ^(C)raised his right hand to heaven ⁶ and swore by ^(D)him who lives forever and ever, ^(E)who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay, ⁷ but that ^(F)in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, ^(G)just as he announced to his servants the prophets.

⁸ Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”

² On ^(A)the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, ^(B)as he may prosper, ^(C)so that there will be no collecting when I come.

¹⁰ And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into ^(A)a trance ¹¹ and saw ^(B)the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. ¹² In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. ¹³ And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” ¹⁴ But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; ^(C)for I have never eaten anything that is ^(D)common or ^(E)unclean.” ¹⁵ And the voice came to him again a second time, ^(F)“What God has made clean, do not call common.” ¹⁶ This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven.

¹⁷ Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what ^(G)the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, ^(H)the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate ¹⁸ and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. ¹⁹ And while Peter was pondering ^(I)the vision, ^(J)the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. ²⁰ Rise and go down and ^(K)accompany them without hesitation,^[a] for I have sent them.” ²¹ And Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?” ²² And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and ^(L)God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by ^(M)a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and ^(N)to hear what you have to say.” ²³ So he invited them in to be his guests.

The next day he rose and went away with them, and ^(O)some of ^(P)the brothers from Joppa accompanied him. ²⁴ And on the following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. ²⁵ When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and ^(Q)fell down at his feet and ^(R)worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter lifted him up, saying, ^(S)“Stand up; I too am a man.” ²⁷ And as he talked with him, he went in and found many persons gathered. ²⁸ And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew ^(T)to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but ^(U)God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. ²⁹ So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.”

³⁰ And Cornelius said, ^(V)“Four days ago, about this hour, I was praying in my house at ^(W)the ninth hour,^[b] and behold, ^(X)a man stood before me in bright clothing ³¹ and said, ‘Cornelius, ^(Y)your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. ³² Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.’ ³³ So I sent for you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here in the presence of God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.”
