¹⁵ Therefore,

³ No longer will there be any curse.^(A) The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.^(B)

³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.^(A) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.^{(B) 4} ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.^(C) There will be no more death’^[a](D) or mourning or crying or pain,^(E) for the old order of things has passed away.”^(F)

⁵ Then the Lord will create^(A) over all of Mount Zion^(B) and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;^(C) over everything the glory^[a](D) will be a canopy.^{(E) 6} It will be a shelter^(F) and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge^(G) and hiding place from the storm^(H) and rain.

²⁵ For David had said, “Since the Lord, the God of Israel, has granted rest^(A) to his people and has come to dwell in Jerusalem forever,

¹⁴ The Word became flesh^(A) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,^(B) the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace^(C) and truth.^(D)

⁵ There will be no more night.^(A) They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.^(B) And they will reign for ever and ever.^(C)

³ And they sang a new song^(A) before the throne and before the four living creatures^(B) and the elders.^(C) No one could learn the song except the 144,000^(D) who had been redeemed from the earth. ⁴ These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins.^(E) They follow the Lamb wherever he goes.^(F) They were purchased from among mankind^(G) and offered as firstfruits^(H) to God and the Lamb. ⁵ No lie was found in their mouths;^(I) they are blameless.^(J)

¹⁹ Then God’s temple^(A) in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant.^(B) And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder,^(C) an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.^(D)
