Revive Us Again

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of ^(A)the Sons of Korah.

85 Lord, you were ^(B)favorable to your land;
    you ^(C)restored the fortunes of Jacob.
²You ^(D)forgave the iniquity of your people;
    you ^(E)covered all their sin. Selah
³You withdrew all your wrath;
    you ^(F)turned from your hot anger.

⁴^(G)Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
    and put away your indignation toward us!
⁵^(H)Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
⁶Will you not ^(I)revive us again,
    that your people may ^(J)rejoice in you?
⁷Show us your steadfast love, O Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

⁸^(K)Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
    for he will ^(L)speak peace to his people, to his ^(M)saints;
    but let them not ^(N)turn back to ^(O)folly.
⁹Surely his ^(P)salvation is near to those who fear him,
    that ^(Q)glory may dwell in our land.

¹⁰^(R)Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
    ^(S)righteousness and peace kiss each other.
¹¹Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
    and righteousness looks down from the sky.
¹²Yes, ^(T)the Lord will give what is good,
    and our land ^(U)will yield its increase.
¹³^(V)Righteousness will go before him
    and make his footsteps a way.

Sit at My Right Hand

A Psalm of David.

110 ^(A)The Lord says to my Lord:
^(B)“Sit at my right hand,
^(C)until I make your enemies your ^(D)footstool.”

²The Lord sends forth ^(E)from Zion
    ^(F)your mighty scepter.
    ^(G)Rule in the midst of your enemies!
³^(H)Your people will ^(I)offer themselves freely
    on the day of your ^(J)power,^[a]
    in ^(K)holy garments;^[b]
from the womb of the morning,
    the dew of your youth will be yours.^[c]
⁴^(L)The Lord has ^(M)sworn
    and will ^(N)not change his mind,
^(O)“You are ^(P)a priest ^(Q)forever
    after the order of ^(R)Melchizedek.”

⁵The Lord is at your ^(S)right hand;
    he will ^(T)shatter kings on ^(U)the day of his wrath.
⁶He will ^(V)execute judgment among the nations,
    ^(W)filling them with corpses;
he will ^(X)shatter chiefs^[d]
    over the wide earth.
⁷He will ^(Y)drink from the brook by the way;
    therefore he will lift up his head.

    and his ^(E)fruit was sweet to my taste.
⁴He ^(F)brought me to the banqueting house,^[b]
    and his ^(G)banner over me was love.
⁵Sustain me with ^(H)raisins;
    refresh me with apples,
    ^(I)for I am sick with love.
⁶His ^(J)left hand is under my head,
    and his right hand ^(K)embraces me!

that you not stir up or awaken love

The Bride Adores Her Beloved

⁸The voice of my beloved!
    Behold, he comes,
leaping ^(O)over the mountains,
    bounding over the hills.
⁹My beloved is like ^(P)a gazelle
    or a young stag.
Behold, there he stands
    behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
    looking through the lattice.

2 In those days ^(A)a decree went out from ^(B)Caesar Augustus that all the world should be ^(C)registered. ²This was the first ^(D)registration when^[a] Quirinius ^(E)was governor of Syria. ³And all went to be registered, each to his own town. ⁴And Joseph also went up ^(F)from Galilee, from the town of ^(G)Nazareth, to Judea, to ^(H)the city of David, which is called ^(I)Bethlehem, ^(J)because he was of the house and lineage of David, ⁵to be registered with Mary, his betrothed,^[b] who was with child. ⁶And ^(K)while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. ⁷And she gave birth to her firstborn son and ^(L)wrapped him in swaddling cloths and ^(M)laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in ^(N)the inn.^[c]

The Shepherds and the Angels
