New King James Version

The Lord the Shepherd of His People

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is (A)my shepherd;
(B)I shall not [a]want.
2 (C)He makes me to lie down in [b]green pastures;
(D)He leads me beside the [c]still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
(E)He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of (F)the shadow of death,
(G)I will fear no evil;
(H)For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You (I)prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You (J)anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will [d]dwell in the house of the Lord
[e]Forever.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd,(A) I lack nothing.(B)
2     He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,(C)
3     he refreshes my soul.(D)
He guides me(E) along the right paths(F)
    for his name’s sake.(G)
4 Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a](H)
I will fear no evil,(I)
    for you are with me;(J)
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table(K) before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;(L)
    my cup(M) overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love(N) will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

23 BOG je moj pastir,
    ništa mi ne manjka.
2 Pruža mi odmor na zelenim livadama,
    vodi me do mirnih voda.
3 Snagu mi obnavlja,
    dobar je prema meni,
    pravim me putem vodi.
4 Pa i kada stazom smrti prolazim,
    zla se ne bojim jer ti si sa mnom.
    Čuvaju me tvoja palica i štap[a].

5 Pripremio si gozbu za mene
    pred očima mojih neprijatelja.
Krijepiš me kao dragoga gosta,[b]
    puniš moju čašu do vrha.
6 Svakog dana prate me tvoja dobrota i vjernost,
    čitav moj život BOŽJA kuća bit će moj dom.
