Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd,(A) I lack nothing.(B)

he leads me beside quiet waters,(C)
3 he refreshes my soul.(D)
He guides me(E) along the right paths(F)
for his name’s sake.(G)
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a](H)
I will fear no evil,(I)
for you are with me;(J)
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

John 10:2-5
New International Version
2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.(A) 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.(B) He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.(C) 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.(D) 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
