⁵^(A)Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
^(B)They will not be ashamed
When they ^(C)speak with their enemies ^(D)in the gate.

New Living Translation

⁵How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!
He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.

⁵The more you have,
the better off you will be,
because they will protect you
when your enemies
attack you in court.

⁵The man who fills his quiver with sons
will be very blessed.
He will never be defeated
when he opposes his enemy at the city gates.^[a]

Psalm 127:5 city gates This can refer to either a battle to protect the city or to a court case held in this public place.

⁵Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. That man shall have the help he needs when arguing with his enemies.^[a]
