Psalm 123
King James Version
123 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
Psalm 123
New King James Version
Prayer for Relief from Contempt
A Song of Ascents.
123 Unto You (A)I lift up my eyes,
O You (B)who dwell in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
(C)So our eyes look to the Lord our God,
Until He has mercy on us.
3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us!
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scorn of those who are at ease,
With the contempt of the proud.
Psalmien 123
Raamattu 1933/38
123 Matkalaulu. Minä nostan silmäni sinun puoleesi, joka taivaissa asut.
2 Katso, niinkuin palvelijain silmät katsovat heidän isäntäinsä käsiin, ja niinkuin palvelijattaren silmät katsovat hänen emäntänsä käsiin, niin meidän silmämme katsovat Herran, meidän Jumalamme, puoleen, kunnes hän armahtaa meitä.
3 Ole meille armollinen, Herra, ole meille armollinen. Sillä kylliksi olemme jo saaneet ylenkatsetta.
4 Sielumme on jo kyllänsä saanut suruttomien pilkasta, ylpeitten ylenkatseesta.
