¹⁵³Look on my ^(A)affliction and deliver me,
    for ^(B)I do not forget your law.
¹⁵⁴^(C)Plead my cause and redeem me;
    ^(D)give me life according to your promise!
¹⁵⁵^(E)Salvation is far from the wicked,
    ^(F)for they do not seek your statutes.
¹⁵⁶^(G)Great is your mercy, O Lord;
    ^(H)give me life according to your rules.
¹⁵⁷^(I)Many are my persecutors and my adversaries,
    but I do not ^(J)swerve from your testimonies.
¹⁵⁸I look at ^(K)the faithless with ^(L)disgust,
    because they do not keep your commands.
¹⁵⁹Consider how I ^(M)love your precepts!
    ^(N)Give me life, O Lord, according to your steadfast love.
¹⁶⁰^(O)The sum of your word is ^(P)truth,
    and every one of your ^(Q)righteous rules endures forever.

    but my heart ^(T)stands in awe of your words.

¹⁶³I hate and abhor falsehood,

¹⁶⁴Seven times a day I praise you
    for your ^(X)righteous rules.
¹⁶⁵Great ^(Y)peace have those who love your law;
    ^(Z)nothing can make them stumble.

    and I do your commandments.

Amos 2

2 Thus says the Lord:

^(A)“For three transgressions of ^(B)Moab,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,^[a]
because ^(C)he burned to lime
    the bones of the king of Edom.
²So I will send a fire upon Moab,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of ^(D)Kerioth,
and Moab shall die amid uproar,
    amid shouting and the sound of the trumpet;
³^(E)I will cut off the ruler from its midst,
    and will kill ^(F)all its princes^[b] with him,”
says the Lord.

Judgment on Judah

⁴Thus says the Lord:

^(G)“For three transgressions of Judah,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because ^(H)they have rejected the law of the Lord,
    and have not kept his statutes,
but ^(I)their lies have led them astray,
    those after which their fathers walked.
⁵So ^(J)I will send a fire upon Judah,
    and it shall devour the strongholds of Jerusalem.”

Judgment on Israel

⁶Thus says the Lord:

^(K)“For three transgressions of Israel,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because ^(L)they sell the righteous for ^(M)silver,
    and the needy for a pair of sandals—
⁷those who trample the head of the poor ^(N)into the dust of the earth
    and ^(O)turn aside the way of the afflicted;
^(P)a man and his father go in to the same girl,
    so that my holy name is profaned;
⁸they lay themselves down beside every altar
    on garments ^(Q)taken in pledge,
and in the house of their God they drink
    the wine of those who have been fined.

⁹“Yet ^(R)it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,
    ^(S)whose height was like the height of the cedars
    and who was as strong as the oaks;
^(T)I destroyed his fruit above
    and his roots beneath.
¹⁰^(U)Also it was I who brought you up out of the land of Egypt
    ^(V)and led you forty years in the wilderness,
    ^(W)to possess the land of the Amorite.
¹¹And I raised up some of your sons for prophets,
    and some of your young men for ^(X)Nazirites.
    Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel?”
declares the Lord.

¹²“But you made the Nazirites ^(Y)drink wine,
and commanded the prophets,
saying, ^(Z)‘You shall not prophesy.’

¹³“Behold, I will press you down in your place,
    as a cart full of sheaves presses down.
¹⁴^(AA)Flight shall perish from the swift,
    ^(AB)and the strong shall not retain his strength,
    ^(AC)nor shall the mighty save his life;
¹⁵he who handles the bow shall not stand,
    and he who is ^(AD)swift of foot shall not save himself,
    ^(AE)nor shall he who rides the horse save his life;
¹⁶and he who is stout of heart among the mighty
    shall flee away naked in that day,”
declares the Lord.

The High Priestly Prayer

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^(A)he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^(B)the hour has come; ^(C)glorify your Son that the Son may ^(D)glorify you, ²since ^(E)you have given him authority over all flesh, ^(F)to give eternal life to all ^(G)whom you have given him. ³^(H)And this is eternal life, ^(I)that they know you, ^(J)the only ^(K)true God, and ^(L)Jesus Christ whom you have sent. ⁴I ^(M)glorified you on earth, ^(N)having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. ⁵And now, Father, ^(O)glorify me in your own presence with the glory ^(P)that I had with you ^(Q)before the world existed.

⁶^(R)“I have manifested your name to the people ^(S)whom you gave me out of the world. ^(T)Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. ⁷Now they know that everything ^(U)that you have given me is from you. ⁸For I have given them ^(V)the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that ^(W)I came from you; and ^(X)they have believed that you sent me. ⁹I am praying for them. ^(Y)I am not praying for the world but for those ^(Z)whom you have given me, for ^(AA)they are yours. ¹⁰^(AB)All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and ^(AC)I am glorified in them. ¹¹And I am no longer in the world, but ^(AD)they are in the world, and ^(AE)I am coming to you. ^(AF)Holy Father, ^(AG)keep them in your name, ^(AH)which you have given me, ^(AI)that they may be one, ^(AJ)even as we are one. ¹²^(AK)While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. ²⁰“I do not ^(BG)ask for these only, but also for those ^(BH)who will believe in me through their word, ²¹^(BI)that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ^(BJ)they also may be in ^(BK)us, so that the world ^(BL)may believe that you have sent me. ²²^(BM)The glory that you have given me ^(BN)I have given to them, ^(BO)that they may be one even as we are one, ²³^(BP)I in them and you in me, ^(BQ)that they may become perfectly one, ^(BR)so that the world may know that you sent me and ^(BS)loved them even as ^(BT)you loved me. ²⁴Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be ^(BU)with me ^(BV)where I am, ^(BW)to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me ^(BX)before the foundation of the world. ²⁵^(BY)O righteous Father, even though ^(BZ)the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. ²⁶^(CA)I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love ^(CB)with which you have loved me may be in them, and ^(CC)I in them.”
