Psalm 49:16-20
New American Standard Bible
16 Do not be afraid (A)when a person becomes rich,
When the splendor of his house is increased;
17 For when he dies, he will (B)take nothing with him;
His [a]wealth will not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he (C)congratulates [b]himself—
And though people praise you when you do well for yourself—
19 [c]He will (D)go to the generation of his fathers;
They will never see (E)the light.
20 (F)Mankind in its splendor, yet without understanding,
Is (G)like the animals that [d]perish.
