Psalm 22:27
New Catholic Bible
27 [a]The poor[b] will eat and be filled;
those who seek the Lord will praise him:
“May your hearts live forever.”
Footnotes
- Psalm 22:27 In an allusion to the Messianic Banquet (see Ps 23:5; Prov 9:1f; Isa 25:6; 55:1; 65:13), the psalmist describes a worldwide company of people from every state in life who will ultimately take up God’s praise from age to age. It constitutes one of the grandest visions of the scope of the worshipers who will come to praise the saving acts of the Lord.
- Psalm 22:27 The poor: the anawim, originally the poor who depended on God for their livelihood; later, the humble, pious, and devout—those who hoped in God alone.
Psalm 22:27
King James Version
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
