¹² so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be ^(A)to the praise of his glory. ¹³ In him you also, when you heard ^(B)the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, ^(C)were sealed with the ^(D)promised Holy Spirit,

³ not ^(A)domineering over those in your charge, but ^(B)being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when ^(C)the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the ^(D)unfading ^(E)crown of glory. ⁵ Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. ^(F)Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ^(G)“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

¹² And again Isaiah says,

¹³ May the God of hope fill you with all ^(D)joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

²³ in order to make known ^(A)the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he ^(B)has prepared beforehand for glory— ²⁴ even us whom he ^(C)has called, ^(D)not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

¹⁸ So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

¹¹ And I am no longer in the world, but ^(A)they are in the world, and ^(B)I am coming to you. ^(C)Holy Father, ^(D)keep them in your name, ^(E)which you have given me, ^(F)that they may be one, ^(G)even as we are one.

²⁶ If anyone serves me, he must ^(A)follow me; and ^(B)where I am, there will my servant be also. ^(C)If anyone serves me, ^(D)the Father will honor him.
