² I trust in you;^(A)
    do not let me be put to shame,
    nor let my enemies triumph over me.
³ No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,^(B)
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous^(C) without cause.

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,^(A)
and the one who trusts in him
    will never be put to shame.”^[a](B)

⁵ To you they cried out^(A) and were saved;
    in you they trusted^(B) and were not put to shame.^(C)

¹⁸ Let my persecutors be put to shame,
    but keep me from shame;
let them be terrified,
    but keep me from terror.
Bring on them the day of disaster;
    destroy them with double destruction.^(A)

¹⁷ But Israel will be saved^(A) by the Lord
    with an everlasting salvation;^(B)
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,^(C)
    to ages everlasting.

⁵ Blessed are those^(A) whose help^(B) is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God.
