¹¹ He came to ^(A)his own,^[a] and ^(B)his own people^{[b] (C)}did not receive him.

⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you mean.” ⁷¹ And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus ^(A)of Nazareth.” ⁷² And again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.” ⁷³ After a little while the bystanders came up and said to Peter, “Certainly you too are one of them, for ^(B)your accent betrays you.” ⁷⁴ Then he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know the man.” And immediately the rooster crowed.

^5 (A)For not even ^(B)his brothers believed in him.

^35 (A)For I have come ^(B)to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. ^36 (C)And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

⁵⁶ But ^(A)all this has taken place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” ^(B)Then all the disciples left him and fled.

^21 (A)Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, ^22 (B)and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. ^(C)But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
