^5 (A)Do not cover their guilt, and let not their sin be blotted out from your sight, for they have provoked you to anger in the presence of the builders.

^14 (A)Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; ^(B)the Lord will repay him according to his deeds.

²⁸ And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, ^(A)God gave them up to ^(B)a debased mind to do ^(C)what ought not to be done.

¹⁰ And he said to me, ^(A)“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. ^11 (B)Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

¹¹ Therefore ^(A)God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe ^(B)what is false, ¹² in order that all may be condemned ^(C)who did not believe the truth but ^(D)had pleasure in unrighteousness.

² For I bear them witness that ^(A)they have a zeal for God, ^(B)but not according to knowledge. ³ For, being ignorant of ^(C)the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

³¹ but that Israel ^(A)who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness^{[a] (B)}did not succeed in reaching that law.

¹⁸ So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.
