²² So all bore witness to Him, and ^(A)marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, ^(B)“Is this not Joseph’s son?”

²⁶ For such a High Priest was fitting for us, ^(A)who is holy, ^[a]harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, ^(B)and has become higher than the heavens;

⁴⁶ The officers answered, ^(A)“No man ever spoke like this Man!”

The Word Becomes Flesh

^14 (A)And the Word ^(B)became ^(C)flesh and dwelt among us, and ^(D)we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ^(E)full of grace and truth.

^13 (A)and in the midst of the seven lampstands ^(B)One like the Son of Man, ^(C)clothed with a garment down to the feet and ^(D)girded about the chest with a golden band. ¹⁴ His head and ^(E)hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and ^(F)His eyes like a flame of fire; ^15 (G)His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and ^(H)His voice as the sound of many waters; ^16 (I)He had in His right hand seven stars, ^(J)out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, ^(K)and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. ¹⁷ And ^(L)when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But ^(M)He laid His right hand on me, saying ^[a]to me, “Do not be afraid; ^(N)I am the First and the Last. ^18 (O)I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, ^(P)I am alive forevermore. Amen. And ^(Q)I have the keys of ^[b]Hades and of Death.
