    Rescue me from their ravages,

    How long will your wrath burn like fire?^(A)

    no prophets^(B) are left,
    and none of us knows how long this will be.
¹⁰ How long^(C) will the enemy mock^(D) you, God?
    Will the foe revile^(E) your name forever?

²⁰ Deliver me from the sword,^(A)
    my precious life^(B) from the power of the dogs.^(C)
21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions;^(D)
    save me from the horns of the wild oxen.^(E)

⁶ Listen to my cry,^(A)
    for I am in desperate need;^(B)
rescue me^(C) from those who pursue me,
    for they are too strong^(D) for me.
⁷ Set me free from my prison,^(E)
    that I may praise your name.^(F)
Then the righteous will gather about me
    because of your goodness to me.^(G)

deliver me from those who hate me,

    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
