¹⁷ Let me not be put to shame,^(A) Lord,
    for I have cried out to you;
but let the wicked be put to shame
    and be silent^(B) in the realm of the dead.

² I trust in you;^(A)
    do not let me be put to shame,
    nor let my enemies triumph over me.
³ No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,^(B)
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous^(C) without cause.

¹¹ But the Lord^(A) is with me like a mighty warrior;
    so my persecutors^(B) will stumble and not prevail.^(C)
They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced;^(D)
    their dishonor will never be forgotten.

¹¹ “All who rage^(A) against you
    will surely be ashamed and disgraced;^(B)
those who oppose^(C) you
    will be as nothing and perish.^(D)
12 Though you search for your enemies,
    you will not find them.^(E)
Those who wage war against you
    will be as nothing^(F) at all.

¹⁷ It is not the dead^(A) who praise the Lord,
    those who go down to the place of silence;

²⁶ May all who gloat^(A) over my distress^(B)
    be put to shame^(C) and confusion;
may all who exalt themselves over me^(D)
    be clothed with shame and disgrace.

⁵ Those who look to him are radiant;^(A)
    their faces are never covered with shame.^(B)

¹⁷ Unless the Lord had given me help,^(A)
    I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.^(B)

²⁴ My tongue will tell of your righteous acts
    all day long,^(A)
for those who wanted to harm me^(B)
    have been put to shame and confusion.^(C)
