³⁵ And when they had crucified him, ^(A)they divided his garments among them by casting lots.

^23 (A)When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic.^[a] But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom,

³⁷ And again another Scripture says, ^(A)“They will look on him whom they have pierced.”

Him Whom They Have Pierced

¹⁰ “And ^(A)I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and ^(B)pleas for mercy, so that, ^(C)when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, ^(D)they shall mourn for him, ^(E)as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.

^33 (A)And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, ^(B)one on his right and one on his left.

²⁴ And they crucified him and ^(A)divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take.

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, ^(A)“Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”

³⁴ But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out ^(A)blood and water.

²³ But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed.
