³¹ I cling to your decrees, O Lord;
    let me not be put to shame.^(A)

²³ Buy truth, and do not sell it;
    buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.^(A)

¹⁷ But Israel is saved by the Lord
    with everlasting salvation;
you shall not be put to shame or confounded
    ever again.^(A)

¹⁸ Let my persecutors be shamed,
    but do not let me be shamed;
let them be dismayed,
    but do not let me be dismayed;
bring on them the day of disaster;
    destroy them with double destruction!^(A)

²³ Kings shall be your foster fathers
    and their queens your nursing mothers.
With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you
    and lick the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;
    those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.^(A)

¹¹⁵ Go away from me, you evildoers,
    that I may keep the commandments of my God.^(A)
