²⁶ And he said to them, “Why are you ^(A)afraid, ^(B)O you of little faith?” Then he rose and ^(C)rebuked the winds and the sea, and ^(D)there was a great calm.

²³ and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on ^(A)the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. ²⁴ And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and ^(B)rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, ^(C)and there was a calm. ²⁵ He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they ^(D)were afraid, and they ^(E)marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that ^(F)he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

³⁹ And he awoke and ^(A)rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and ^(B)there was a great calm. ⁴⁰ He said to them, “Why are you ^(C)so afraid? Have you still no faith?” ⁴¹ And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, ^(D)“Who then is this, that even ^(E)the wind and the sea obey him?”

¹⁵ So they picked up Jonah and hurled him into the sea, ^(A)and the sea ceased from its raging.
