Psalm 106:40-48
New International Version
40 Therefore the Lord was angry(A) with his people
and abhorred his inheritance.(B)
41 He gave them into the hands(C) of the nations,
and their foes ruled over them.
42 Their enemies oppressed(D) them
and subjected them to their power.
43 Many times he delivered them,(E)
but they were bent on rebellion(F)
and they wasted away in their sin.
44 Yet he took note of their distress
when he heard their cry;(G)
45 for their sake he remembered his covenant(H)
and out of his great love(I) he relented.(J)
46 He caused all who held them captive
to show them mercy.(K)
47 Save us,(L) Lord our God,
and gather us(M) from the nations,
that we may give thanks(N) to your holy name(O)
and glory in your praise.
48 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Let all the people say, “Amen!”(P)
Praise the Lord.
Proverbs 23:34-35
New International Version
34 You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
lying on top of the rigging.
35 “They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt!
They beat me, but I don’t feel it!
When will I wake up
so I can find another drink?”(A)

22 Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,(B) 2 and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus,(C) for they were afraid of the people. 3 Then Satan(D) entered Judas, called Iscariot,(E) one of the Twelve. 4 And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard(F) and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. 5 They were delighted and agreed to give him money.(G) 6 He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.
Hebrews 10:19-25
New International Version
A Call to Persevere in Faith
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence(A) to enter the Most Holy Place(B) by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way(C) opened for us through the curtain,(D) that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest(E) over the house of God,(F) 22 let us draw near to God(G) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,(H) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience(I) and having our bodies washed with pure water.(J) 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope(K) we profess,(L) for he who promised is faithful.(M) 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,(N) 25 not giving up meeting together,(O) as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another(P)—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(Q)
