⁴³ He brought out his people with rejoicing,^(A)
    his chosen ones with shouts of joy;

¹¹ For the Lord will deliver Jacob
    and redeem^(A) them from the hand of those stronger^(B) than they.
¹² They will come and shout for joy^(C) on the heights^(D) of Zion;
    they will rejoice in the bounty^(E) of the Lord—
the grain, the new wine and the olive oil,^(F)
    the young of the flocks^(G) and herds.
They will be like a well-watered garden,^(H)
    and they will sorrow^(I) no more.

¹¹ Then his people recalled^[a] the days of old,
    the days of Moses and his people—
where is he who brought them through the sea,^(A)
    with the shepherd of his flock?^(B)
Where is he who set
    his Holy Spirit^(C) among them,
¹² who sent his glorious arm^(D) of power
    to be at Moses’ right hand,
who divided the waters^(E) before them,
    to gain for himself everlasting renown,^(F)
13 who led^(G) them through the depths?^(H)
Like a horse in open country,
    they did not stumble;^(I)
14 like cattle that go down to the plain,
    they were given rest^(J) by the Spirit of the Lord.
This is how you guided your people
    to make for yourself a glorious name.

¹⁰     and those the Lord has rescued^(A) will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;^(B)
    everlasting joy^(C) will crown their heads.
Gladness^(D) and joy will overtake them,
    and sorrow and sighing will flee away.^(E)

¹² You will go out in joy^(A)
    and be led forth in peace;^(B)
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song^(C) before you,
and all the trees^(D) of the field
    will clap their hands.^(E)

¹⁰ Was it not you who dried up the sea,^(A)
    the waters of the great deep,^(B)
who made a road in the depths of the sea^(C)
    so that the redeemed^(D) might cross over?
¹¹ Those the Lord has rescued^(E) will return.
    They will enter Zion with singing;^(F)
    everlasting joy will crown their heads.

⁸ Yet he saved them^(A) for his name’s sake,^(B)
    to make his mighty power^(C) known.
⁹ He rebuked^(D) the Red Sea, and it dried up;^(E)
    he led them through^(F) the depths as through a desert.
¹⁰ He saved them^(G) from the hand of the foe;^(H)
    from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.^(I)
11 The waters covered^(J) their adversaries;
    not one of them survived.
¹² Then they believed his promises
    and sang his praise.^(K)
